"Special thanks to tax assessor Stanley Nacewicz, who called and brought this stealth attack to our attention last Wednesday afternoon. If he hadn't, it may have slipped by even us -- until the property tax bills arrived in the mail with a shocking increase." (April 27th, 2010 Citizens for Limited Taxation)
Small Business
Our communities are kept vibrant and productive due to the efforts of their hard-working small business owners. Over the years, taxes have gone up and many small businesses have been forced to close their doors.
I'm going to fight Beacon Hill politics to ensure that small business owners get the chance to prosper. There should be a reform of the present personal property tax standards which are applied aggressively to small business and not at all applied to large corporations.
Environment & Energy
Together,
State Senator Timilty and I have proposed two
solar energy sites in Attleboro, MA designed to create jobs while cutting overall energy costs and dependence on oil. When implemented, this project will be the largest of its kind in Massachusetts. I believe that the future of the Commonwealth and this District can benefit greatly from
solar energy sites in the area.

Veterans
As your state representative, I will do whatever it takes to make sure we take care of our soldiers and veterans-especially those who have recently come back from overseas. This includes making sure they have the best medical coverage and treatment available.
I support the presently pending legislation that would exempt any serviceman or servicewoman deployed on active duty in a conflict from paying property taxes. We have a number of servicemen and women in our area, and I believe this proposal is a great tribute to their dedication to this country.
Education
Our children need to be given the best opportunity to succeed. We can best ensure they have that chance succeeding by making sure our schools have the resources to meet their educational needs and prepare them for the future. While serving on the Board of the Literacy Center, I witnessed firsthand the great impact such programs can have on students trying to further their educational goals.
Families in this state are finding it increasingly difficult to finance higher education for their children at our heralded public colleges. These people need additional support to make their necessary and important goal of a college education reality.
Currently, most state education funds support administration rather than reaching the teachers and students in the classroom. This policy should be reversed.
To successfully attract new businessess, we must ensure the availability of a well educated workforce.
